Emily Jacobson

Rural Rehabilitation Specialist

Emily Jacobson is from rural northeast Nebraska, where she grew up immersed in agriculture, helping on her family’s farm and working with their cattle herd. Emily earned her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the College of Saint Mary and now serves as the Lead Rural Rehabilitation Specialist for the Nebraska AgrAbility team. With her unique background in both rehabilitation and agriculture, Emily is able to provide thorough farm and ranch assessments and identify how assistive technology can help farmers and ranchers overcome challenges. She is passionate about exploring new technologies that can improve her clients’ independence and quality of life.

I was a farm girl with an Occupational Therapy background that wanted to merge them, AgrAbility was that program for me. Helping farmers and ranchers to modify their practices - not their dreams- is incredibly fulfilling and makes me feel like I made a difference.

Today, she and her husband continue that tradition by managing their own farming operation and farm repair business. Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her family—including their young son and a new baby on the way—playing with their dog, reading, and meal prepping.
